Where Can I Serve?
Christians are not to sit passively on the sideline. From the moment of salvation they are called by God into service. And there is nothing more exciting and just plain fun, than serving God…as you’ve been gifted to serve.
Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV)
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Missions
Immanuel Baptist Church is thrilled to be part of the Great Commission spreading the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The missionaries…sent out by the Southern Baptist Convention International Mission Board are located all over the world…by the thousands. Each year, a small team from our church will make every effort to go abroad and assist our missionaries in practical projects and evangelistic outreach.
Praise Team and Band
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of saints, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Ushers and Greeters
The usher team fills an important role. They are involved in directing folks to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.
Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Immanuel Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before…and soon during… the morning service, a team of volunteers is in prayer seeking God’s direction. Throughout the week, volunteers on our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study.
Media & Technology
Ladies Ministry
Join other women in a relaxed setting to enjoy great teaching, discussion, prayer and to build friendships that become “strong towers” while facing various trials in life. We organize weekly meetings, events and service opportunities designed to encourage spiritual growth. Volunteers are welcome to assist with planning and executing any of our activities. We’d love to have you join us!
Children’s Church
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Living Hope holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–all to the end of your child developing a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
